Piloting the Way to Success

In the summer of the 2018, the City of Seattle installed lighted buoys in the middle of Lake Union to create a seaplane landing zone. Kenmore Air needed to get ahead of the story to allay any fears and negative perceptions as well as educate local boaters, kayakers and paddleboarders about the buoys. Lisa secured 31 stories including coverage on all 4 major TV stations and in all local boating publications. She also created a public outreach campaign that included local businesses and other stakeholders and secured speaking engagements for Kenmore Air at local yacht clubs and recreational boating groups. Kenmore Air considered the first-year trial a success and saw broad community support with very little negative feedback.
